VASBERT DRAKES

Vasbert "Vassie" Drakes made a belated Test debut at the age of 33, eight years after first representing the West Indies in One-Day Internationals. His Test debut was delayed while he successfully plied his trade in South Africa and England that led to him missing regional competitions as he was unable to meet the WICB's eligibility requirements. His biggest moment in Tests was helping West Indies reach Test cricket's highest run-chase of 418 against Australia at the Antigua Recreational Ground in 2003. He scored an unbeaten 27 in that match. Drakes is currently a coach of the Barbados team. At the first-class level he took 614 wickets including 28 five-wicket hauls
