WAYNE DANIEL

Wayne Daniel, a muscular, tearaway fast bowler, was regarded as one of those many pacers who came at the wrong time. The presence of Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Colin Croft, Joel Garner and Malcolm Marshall denied him the opportunities he merited. In the 1970s he was one of the "rebels" who played in the Kerry Packer World Series, which lost him a pick on the West Indies side for seven years. Daniel also made a huge impact on the English country circuit where he represented Middlesex for several seasons. He played 266 first-class matches taking 867 wickets which included 37 five-wicket and seven ten-wicket hauls
