Michael Frederick, also known as Mike Frederick, was a Barbadian cricketer who played for the West Indies cricket team from 1975 to 1986. He was born on March 3, 1953, in Barbados and made his debut for the West Indies at the age of 22.

Frederick was a left-arm fast bowler who was known for his pace and swing. He was a key member of the West Indies team that dominated world cricket in the 1970s and early 1980s, playing in 59 Test matches and 31 One Day Internationals for his country.

Frederick’s best performance in Test cricket came in 1977, when he took 9 wickets for 103 runs in the first innings of the third Test against India in Mumbai. He finished the series with 20 wickets at an average of 19.45 and played a crucial role in the West Indies’ 3-1 series victory.

In addition to his bowling, Frederick was also a useful lower-order batsman and a brilliant fielder. He scored 843 runs in Test cricket at an average of 14.23, with a highest score of 78 not out, and took 129 wickets at an average of 30.12.

After retiring from cricket, Frederick worked as a coach and cricket commentator. He was inducted into the Barbados Cricket Association Hall of Fame in 2012.
