The tall left-hander Adrian Griffith, an opening batsman by upbringing, often had to settle for the No. 3 spot in the Barbados team mainly because of the presence of Philo Wallace and Sherwin Campbell. He gained selection to the West Indies team on the strength of his three centuries in the 1996 regional season. His biggest moment on the Test stage was a century in New Zealand when he and Campbell featured in an opening stand of 276 in a match West Indies lost. Since his playing career, Griffith worked as an administrator with Stanford Twenty20 and now with the ICC as a match referee.
