Patterson Thompson is a Barbadian cricket legend who played for the Barbados cricket team from 1948 to 1963. He was born on August 15, 1928, in Barbados.

Thompson was a right-handed batsman who was known for his solid technique and his ability to play long innings. He played in 88 first-class matches for Barbados, scoring 5,337 runs at an average of 44.18, with 17 centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name.

Thompson also captained the Barbados cricket team from 1959 to 1963 and led the team to victory in the 1960 and 1962 Shell Shield competitions.

After his playing days were over, Thompson worked as a coach and mentor to young cricketers in Barbados. He was also involved in community development initiatives, using sport as a tool to create opportunities for young people in his local area.

In 2017, Thompson was inducted into the Barbados Cricket Association’s Hall of Fame, recognizing his contributions to cricket in the region.
