SIR FRANK WORRELL

Sir Frank Worrell, one of the renowned "3Ws", is celebrated as one of the most gifted batsmen of his time. He was graceful and stylish, timing the ball with great precision. Sir Frank was highly regarded as one of the best West Indian captains of all time for his leadership skills and his ability to invoke a fighting spirit in the men he led. His conduct on and off the field was above reproach. Sir Frank Worrell was one of the few cricketers of his era to pursue studies while at the same time playing for the West Indies. This proved exceedingly difficult and eventually Sir Frank was forced to withdraw from international cricket for two years to complete his studies.
